IAFSA Scholarship Reception

Alyssa Trybus and Melissa Quimby, Bernard scholarship recipients, with Susana R. Bernard

Over 80 guests were present Sunday September 29th, when IAFSA hosted a reception at Alumni House for the recipients of scholarships for the 2013 – 2014 school year. The Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni was able to award over 60 scholarships this year. Two of the students, senior Brianna Flynn and graduate Stephen Manning were recipients of the brand new Cannes Internship Scholarship which sends students to France for two weeks in May for the Cannes Film Festival to work at the American Pavilion. Additionally, senior Melissa Quimby and Alyssa Trybus received another scholarship new to the organization; the Susana R. Bernard Scholarship. The Bernard Scholarship assists Massachusetts residents who are studying elementary education and are interested in psychology, counseling, social work, or bilingual education.

The reception was a wonderful opportunity for the recipients of the scholarships to meet the donors and thank them in person for their contributions to their future and the futures of many to come.
